The DINA project is a collaborative effort involving most of the institutions hosting major natural history collections in Sweden.
On 24 November 2010 in a meeting in Gothenburg the project decided about the technical platform of the developments. It will be based on open source components available from the global biodiversity informatics community.
In the same meeting an invitation was extended to partners from other Nordic Countries to join the collaborative effort for developing an open source collection database.
From Finland the Joensuu Digitisation Centre will join the project and implement the common solutions of the DINA project.
