The successful start of the Encyclopedia of Life and here in Finland the launch of Naturegate has raised the question whether coordination is needed between the many home page projects that exist in the country. By sharing data and experiences and joining forces, the home pages could possibly be more efficiently created. It also looks that overlapping work is done here and there. We have compiled a list of the ongoing projects-- up to 30 of them (!) in page www.fmnh.helsinki.fi/luonto/lajit and at Delicious There is also a link to a discussion forum. The most important questions are 1) should we set a target such a s "Home page for each species in Finland" for instance within 5-10 years, and 2) if the target is set, how can the cooperation to achieve it be achieved?
